Project Outputs
- Spatially explicit assessment of flares and vents at off- and on-shore exploration and processing facilities in Azerbaijan based on ground information and satellite images.
- Technical and economic feasibility study of venting and flaring reduction at major venting and flaring facilities in Azerbaijan, given specific site conditions and available technologies.
- The regulatory draft “Rules of vented gas management, received in the course of industrial development of hydrocarbon resources in Republic of Azerbaijan” was prepared.
- Draft new Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) methodologies focusing on avoidance of venting/flaring of low-pressure gas was prepared.
- Nationally customized manual on the use of CDM mechanism to attract financing to projects focused on vented and flared gas utilization was prepared.
- One training and 3 workshops were conducted during the project implementation. About 50 local government officials, experts, consultants, managers of industrial facilities involved in the utilization of allocated air and combustion gas participated in all these events.
